Welcome to the R4D Admin System
The R4D Admin System allows users to submit new documents and revise the details
of existing documents resulting from DFID-funded research.
If you are funded by DFID to conduct research and have a project record already
on R4D, use this system to send us the outputs of your research.
Once this information has been loaded into the Research4Development database, it
will be searchable and linked to the relevant DFID Project and Programme.
Please note that there is a timeout period, and you will get a warning after 20
minutes that your session is due to expire.
You need to register to use the system. Please email

If you have substantial amounts of data to submit, please view the
Data Import Templates page for details of submission using Excel or xml.
The DFID Research open and enhanced access policy is effective
from 1 November 2012 and applies to new research projects and programmes with grants
or contracts awarded from this date. While not required, researchers holding DFID
grants or contracts awarded prior to 1st November 2012 are encouraged to adopt the
policy and to submit their documents for inclusion on R4D. The policy is supported
by an implementation guide and the R4D editorial policy. Please consult these documents
for guidance on submitting material to R4D.
